Personal data we process
Fairweather English processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide these data to us yourself. Below you will find an overview of the personal data we process:
- First and last name
- Internet browser and device type
- Email address
- IP address
- Other personal data that you actively provide in correspondence and by telephone
- Location data (regional level)
- Data about your activities on our website
Special and/or sensitive personal data that we process
Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data about website visitors who are younger than 16 years. Unless they have permission from parents or guardian. However, we cannot verify whether a visitor is over 16 years old. We therefore recommend that parents be involved in their children’s online activities to prevent data about children from being collected without parental consent. If you are convinced that we have collected personal information about a minor without that consent, please contact us at info@fairweather-english.com, and we will delete this information.
Purpose and legal basis for processing personal data
Fairweather English processes your personal data for the following purposes:
- To be able to email you if necessary to perform our services
- By analyzing visitor behavior on our website (profiling), based on your consent, we improve our website and measure and personalize the advertisements we show you (Google Analytics, Google Ads)
- To protect our contact forms against spam and abuse we use technical data, based on our legitimate interest (Google reCAPTCHA)
- To monitor and improve the findability of our website in search results (Google Search Console)
Automated decision-making
Fairweather English does not use automated decision-making. Please note that we do use profiling for advertising personalization, as described above, but this does not qualify as automated decision-making under the GDPR.
How long we retain personal data
Fairweather English does not retain your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected. We apply the following retention period for personal data: 14 months.
For administrative data and invoices, the statutory tax retention period of 7 years applies.
Sharing personal data with third parties
Fairweather English shares your personal data with various third parties if this is necessary for the performance of the agreement and to comply with any legal obligation. We enter into a data processing agreement with companies that process your data on our behalf to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. Fairweather English remains responsible for these processing activities. We share data with the companies listed below.
- Hosting provider Strato: website files and database
- Elementor: plugin for managing and storing contact form submissions
- Google (Analytics & Search): anonymized IP address, page visits, and device information (via Site Kit) to improve our website
- Google Ads: cookie data and click behavior for the purpose of ad measurement and personalized ads
- Google reCAPTCHA: is used to protect our contact forms against spam and automated abuse. Technical data (such as IP address, browser and device information, mouse movements, and page visits) are processed in this process. This is done based on our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure.
Transfer of data outside the EEA
Some of the services mentioned above (specifically Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Search Console, and Google reCAPTCHA) are provided by Google LLC, based in the United States. This may entail that personal data is transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
Google is a signatory to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF), through which the European Commission has determined that an adequate level of protection is provided for these transfers. Where applicable, we also use Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission as an additional safeguard. Fairweather English uses functional, analytical, and tracking cookies. A cookie is a small text file stored in the browser of your device upon your first visit to this website. Fairweather English uses cookies with purely technical functionality to ensure the website works properly and remembers your preferences.
In addition, with your consent, we place tracking and marketing cookies to monitor your browsing behavior so that we can offer tailored content, measure the effectiveness of our advertisements, and display relevant ads.

This means that you can submit a request to us to send the personal data we hold about you in a computer file to you or another organization you have mentioned. You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data, or request for withdrawal of your consent or objection to the processing of your personal data to info@fairweather-english.com. To ensure that the request for access is made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your identity document with the request. In this copy, please black out your passport photo, MRZ (machine-readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number, and Citizen Service Number (BSN) for your privacy protection. We will respond as soon as possible, but within four weeks, to your request. Fairweather English also wants to point out that you have the option to file a complaint with the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
